Making sure his appearance and his manners are always in check, Visvaldis often appears talkative and attentive to other people’s needs. He has a natural eloquence and a seemingly innocent pretense which tends to make it easy for him to form acquaintances and as a result he associates with many people. After he has accomplished something, Visvaldis tends to not strive to go beyond other people’s expectations. He becomes self-satisfied, and does not put forth further effort unless a situation calls for it. However, if Vee decides he wants to accomplish something, he will be able to decide the fastest and most effective manner to achieve his goal.

Since he was often holed up indoors as a child, Visvaldis doesn’t fully comprehend the reality around him and consequently often can’t understand certain scenarios or other people’s behavior. When worst comes to worst his overactive creativity may fabricate a ridiculous paradox to what is really actually happening. While he does value friendship and other ideals, Vee may tend to be object-oriented at times and expects items or gifts as an insurance of his bond with other people. In truth, while he may fake an interested façade or feign an eagerness to please, Visvaldis loses interest easily and often becomes inattentive during conversations and only politely smiles or nods.

On the otherhand, Vee tends to treat all rivals and friends alike the same way on their actions. He won’t start a grudge in the present just because of something in the past, and he also won’t show favor towards those he love if they have committed a crime. In this sense he is rather just and fair, although he may appear otherwise.

History:

Born to two successful ship merchants, Visvaldis and Myneryvis grew up along the harbor of a crowded yet thoroughly familiar town a distance away from Toffee town. Their parents were often busy or troubled with business so often they were gone. However, both their mother and father were kind and generous, and each time they returned home they made sure to bring gifts as well as stories of their adventures across the seas. This in turn cultivated Vee’s imagination and also exposed him to a variety of traditions and folk tales of foreign lands.

In the warm and inviting environment, everyone knew each of their neighbors personally and often gave a hand in times of need. Since their parents were not always there for them, townsfolk would often help out with daily necessities. For example, the baker would gift them any leftover bread, and the local tailor would help Visvaldis and Myneryvis with any mends. Vee in particular grew close to the town doctor since he was a sickly child and often required medications. Allergic and sensitive to almost anything outdoors, Visvaldis would often have to stay behind to rest while his sister went out to play. Consequently, he often cursed his state of wellbeing and grew increasingly bitter from the lack of association with the neighborhood children. He had no lack of attention from the adults around him who would dote on him, but Vee desired to make friends his age.

However, whenever Myneryvis came back, she would never forget to tell him about her day. Listening attentively, Visvaldis would vicariously re-experience his sister’s adventures in the comfort of his bed. Although many of her tales were obviously overblown (“the baker couldn’t have flooded the streets with the bread he dropped”), he appreciated his twin’s efforts to include him in the action of the town. Knowing there was not much he could do for his condition but wait it out, Vee was satisfied with the repetitive daily cycle of resting and Myneryvis’s storytelling.

As the years passed by, his health was no long so difficultly fragile and Visvaldis could accompany Myneryvis on her daily rounds of the town. However, Vee was quickly disillusioned of the fantasty misconceptions that he had fabricated from his sister’s descriptions of the outdoor world. While he still loved his neighbors that he grew up with, Visvaldis was starting to become displeased with the mediocre life around the port. One day when he went out to retrieve the mail, an intriguing leaflet that advertised a so-called “Toffee Town” caught his eye. Sharing the news with Myneryvis, their enthusiasm for a new life outside of their hometown finally convinced their parents to permit their journey overseas. Eagar for the brand-new and unusual venture, Visvaldis boarded the ferry Panna Cotta headed towards Toffee Town.

Additional Info:

● Myneryvis is his twin.
● When they were young Myneryvis couldn’t pronounce his name hence his nickname “Vee”.
● Visvaldis’s health is better than before but he still is quite weak. As a result he often gets sick and is particularly vulnerable to cold winter days.
● His height is a sensitive topic that shouldn’t be approached. While he typically doesn’t hold grudges he will always remember those who mock his height and may become passive aggressive or just openly hate them.
